Zen Varnas

Zen Varnas, 96, passed away November 11, 2013. A longtime Detroiter, he also resided in Houghton Lake, Gaylord and Westland, Michigan. A WWII Army Aircorp veteran, Retired Detroit Fire Captain(1976), accomplished piano player, table tennis champion and billiards master. Beloved husband of the late Joy Grace (2007). Loving father to Patricia, John (2006), Valerie, David, Steven and James. Grandfather to Ann, Carin, Ben, Evan, Brian, Craig and Jessica. Great-grandfather to Hayden, Brodie, Lola, Eliza and Alec. Dear friend to Jayne Hayduk(2013). His family will celebrate his life in a private Memorial and wish to convey to all that knew him, "I had no regrets."
