William "Bill" Johnson, a cherished soul and a dynamic force in the lives of many, passed away suddenly on December 2, 2025, in Southfield, Michigan. Born on March 18, 1942, Bill’s life was a vibrant tapestry woven with adventure, passion, and an unwavering devotion to his family.

Raised in Livonia on Brookfield Street, Bill embarked on a journey filled with remarkable experiences that defined his character. He was not just a man of significant accomplishments, including earning a Bachelor’s degree, but also a proud private pilot, soaring the skies in his beloved “Piper Tripacer 1954” and navigating through life’s challenges with determination and joy. His adventurous spirit was reflected in his hobbies; whether scuba fishing, skip diving, snowmobiling, or hunting with his grandpa, Bill immersed himself in every pursuit, embracing the thrill of the moment.

In 1991, he founded his catering company “Karis” and opened Burton Manor, further showcasing his dedication to service and community. He took great pleasure in entertaining guests and creating memorable experiences, solidifying his reputation as a man who knew how to celebrate life to the fullest. Bill’s love for hockey was legendary, particularly his enthusiasm for the Detroit Red Wings. Season ticket holder and fan extraordinaire, he could often be found at the games, exuberantly predicting goals and passionately cheering on his team.

Affectionately known as “Uncle Bill Ice Cream,” he was adored by many nieces and nephews who cherished the warmth and kindness he radiated. Most notably, Bill was a loving family man who spent every possible moment with his grandchildren—Alyssa, Parker, Joshua, Hannah, Sophia, Hunter, and Adeline—whose laughter and joy he held close to his heart.

Bill is survived by his siblings, Laura, Matt, Mike, Mary, Larry, and the late Alice and Daniel; his children, Mark, Suzanne, Melissa, Jessica, and Brianna; along with a host of family and friends whose lives were enriched by his presence.

A visitation to honor Bill's life will be held on December 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home located at 15451 Farmington Rd, Livonia, Michigan. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 PM, where those who loved him will gather to celebrate his extraordinary life and legacy.
