Susan E. Mcbee

Susan Elizabeth McBee (nee Diskin), aged 67, passed away on January 9, 2015, surrounded by loved ones. Susan was born on December 29, 1947, in Highland Park, Michigan. She was the fourth child of Joseph Martin Diskin and Dorothy Ruth (Daniels) Diskin. She was a lifelong resident of Michigan, moving around as a child and graduating from Redford Union High School in 1965. She lived in Livonia after her marriage and settled in Plymouth in 1977 to raise her three daughters and many beloved pets. Susan met Bruce McBee on a blind date in 1969. (Best blind date ever!!) They married just over a year later on July 24, 1970. Susan loved spending time with her family. She volunteered for many years in her children's classrooms. She was a natural caregiver. In 1984 she graduated with straight A's from Schoolcraft College RN nursing program. She took on main caregiver functions for her father, mother, aunt by marriage, as well as her first grandchild. She was an avid reader and was known to read whole books in one sitting. Susan learned to knit and crochet in her later years, making items for family and friends. Susan was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Dorothy Diskin, and her siblings Diana and Joel Diskin. Susan is survived by: her loving husband Bruce McBee, daughters Samantha (David) Perrin, Rebecca McBee, and Melissa (Patrick) Allred, and her grandchildren, Connor McBee, Ian and Nathan Perrin, and Patricia "Dot" Allred.
