Rolland "Rolly" R. Richert Rolland Royce Richert, born on April 9, 1947 in Hillsboro, KS, passed away on February 10, 2012 in Novi, MI. Rolly is survived by his wife Barbara Watts-Richert, son Ryan Richert (Waterford, MI), daughter Lesa Richert-Van Meter (Fort Wayne, IN), brother Calvin Richert (Overland Park, KS), sister Fern Richert-Weber (Berlin, NJ) and six grandchildren Roman, Chyim, Miela, Evette, Julian and Lenea. Rolly's life was dedicated to bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to teenagers, and to being a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend. Rolly leaves a legacy of a lifetime of fruitful ministry including various leadership positions in Detroit, Tuscon, Denver, Nashville, San Diego, Washington DC and Chicago. Among youth leaders, he will always be known as the co-founder of the huge DC-LA triennial events. His last 15 years were dedicated exclusively to managing and producing major youth training events, mostly in the US, but in other countries as well. Along the way, he developed and trained staff to continue his work through Outside the Box Ministries. On Wed., Feb. 15, 2012, Visitation will be held from 9am-1pm at R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home (15451 Farmington Rd., Livonia, MI 48154), followed by Burial at Glen Eden Cemetery (details provided to family), and then a Celebration Memorial Service at 7:00pm at Ward Presbyterian Church (40000 6 Mile Rd., Northville, MI 48168).
