Robert Skrip

Robert Skrip, born on December 6th, 1948, in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family and those who knew him, on Sunday, November 30th, 2025. Robert was the eldest son of Stanley Skrip and Louise Skrip (Testaguzza). From an early age he embraced his role as a caring big brother and a steady presence in the lives of those around him.

A proud 1967 graduate of Catholic Central High School, Robert carried with him a strong sense of faith, loyalty, and dedication throughout his life. These values shaped his relationships and the deep connections he maintained with family and friends.

Robert is survived by his loving siblings, Luanne Thorman and her husband, Mark Thorman, and his brother, David Skrip, and his wife, Kimberly Skrip. He was the cherished uncle of five nieces and nephews: Dane Thorman, Erica Thacker (Bret Jr.), Bret Thorman (Kate), Angela Whateley (Michael), and Travis Thorman (Jiya). Robert also held a special place as a beloved great-uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Robert was a resident of The Rivers in Grosse Pointe Woods, where he was known for his warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit. His presence brought comfort, joy and laughter to those who had the privilege of knowing him. He spent his time mingling with other residents, telling jokes, and of course watching every episode of Law & Order.

Robert’s family will forever remember him as a devoted son, a loyal brother, and a loving uncle—someone who cared deeply for his family and friends, and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. His legacy lives on in the people he loved and the many lives he touched.

May he rest in eternal peace as we remember him, always.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8th, 2025 from 12pm to 2pm at RG & GR Harris Funeral Home, located at 15451 Farmington Rd., in Livonia, Michigan.
