With loving sadness we share the passing of Robert Nicholas Chutorash, on Friday, December 5, 2025 in Livonia, Michigan.
Robert was born in Detroit on July 28, 1941 and raised in Royal Oak, Michigan to parents Nicholas and Beatrice Chutorash. He graduated from Royal Oak Kimball High school and earned Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees from Wayne State University. He served his country as an Officer in the United States Air Force, worked as an educator, and retired from a long career with the Detroit Arsenal's Tank-Automotive COMmand (TACOM), in Warren, Michigan.
Robert was known to most as Bob. He is beloved husband of Rene Chutorash. Loving father of Tracie (Robert) Kania and Eric (Jennifer) Chutorash. Grandfather of Megan, Andrew, Matthew, and Nathan. Step-father of Kelly (Robert) Frazer and Nicole (Lee) Yesh. Step grandfather of Katie, Robby, Michael and Abby. Brother of Nancy (Ron) Walker and Richard (Lynn) Chutorash. And survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Bob is best known for his ability to tell a good story, which he had many. He enjoyed dining and travel, particularly cruising, and saw many places around the world. Bob was an avid reader and film lover. He would hit the dance floor to any good song and indulge in his favorite sweet treats any chance he got. Bob cared deeply for his family and friends and he will be missed dearly.
A visitation will be held at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd., Livonia, Friday, December 12, 2025 from 2:00 - 6:00 PM and at St. Colette Catholic Church, 17600 Newburgh Rd., Livonia, Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 9:30 AM until his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM.
