Rita May Troyanek

Rita was born in Detroit in 1940 and raised with her family of two sisters Lenore and Marilyn and parents Moe LaKritz and Sadie Marks. She had various roles in the food industry where she enjoyed working with the public. After meeting her future husband Eddie in high school she married and became a housewife in the 80s. She loved and had many pets. Rita cared for numerous and sometimes exotic animals, donating her time and other resources to many related causes over the years.

Rita loved reating modern art and had a hobby solving complicated puzzles. She was a devoted wife to her husband Eddie who preceded her in death in 2014.

She is survived by her two sisters Lenore and Marilyn, her loving nephew Jack Rubens, cousin’s Greg and Joan Davis and many loving relatives. Rita developed close relationships with her caregivers including Melissa, Tammy and others. She was truly grateful for the compassionate care and companionship she received.

Rita was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be sorely missed. She will be especially remembered for her many contributions to animal rescue and care.

Prayers and Masses are requested for the repose of her soul.
