Raymond N. Grametbauer

Raymond Nelson Grametbauer, age 69. February 1, 2012. Born August 25, 1942 in Massillon, Ohio, formerly of Michigan. Beloved son of the late William Josef and Nella Carnes Grametbauer. Beloved husband of 48 years to Gloria Ann Martins Grametbauer. Loving father of Renee(Tim)Lutz of Albemarle, Eric (Sayuri) Grametbauer of Taylorsville, Kentucky. Loving brother of Josef (Joyce) Grametbauer, Gordon Welty, Nancy (John) Hanlon, Ann Thomas, Judy (Robert) Krempel, and the late David Grametbauer. Dear grandfather of Ann-Marie Burtner and Sean Grametbauer. A graduate of Washington High in Massillon, Mr. Grametbauer retired from the University of Michigan Medical Center, where he was supervisor of hospital security. Earlier in life, he had retired as an officer with the Pinckney, Michigan, Police Department, where he had been awarded and honored for saving several lives. Mr. Grametbauer had also been a volunteer with the Pinckney Fire Department for many years. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, Mr. Grametbauer was always willing to help others, putting their needs first. Raymond also served with the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 PM on Monday, February 6, 2012 at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Road, Livonia, MI. Visitation from 1:00 PM until time of Service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
