Norma Marie Shuttleworth passed away on November 5, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved her dearly and will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.
Born on May 6, 1949, Norma grew up in Detroit, Michigan, as the only child of Thomas and Catherine Steer. Throughout her life, family was always at the center of her world. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love for her family knew no limits.
Norma was married to Michael Shuttleworth Sr., who preceded her in death. Together, they raised their family and created memories that will continue to live on through the generations.
Above all else, Norma was a mother who always put her children first. She would do whatever she could to make sure her children had what they needed, even if it meant going without something herself. Her children never had to question how much she loved them, because she showed it through her sacrifices, generosity, and unwavering devotion. Her family was her greatest priority, and she gave so much of herself to the people she loved.
Norma leaves behind her three children: Michael (Kristin) Shuttleworth Jr, Tom (Terri) Shuttleworth, and Mary (Kevin) Tabone. She is also survived by three grandchildren, TJ (Raven), Trista (Nic), and Alexandra, and one great-grandchild, Tommie
Norma dedicated part of her life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), helping and caring for the elderly. She also had a tremendous love for animals, who held a very special place in her heart.
Those who knew Norma also knew she had a personality all her own. She could say some of the funniest, most unexpected, and off-the-wall things, often leaving those around her laughing. Her unique sense of humor and the little things that made her who she was will never be forgotten.
Norma once said that when she passed away, she hoped to see all of her beloved animals who had gone before her. Her family finds comfort in imagining her reunited with all the furry companions she loved so dearly.
Though her family must now learn to navigate life without her, the love she gave, the sacrifices she made, the laughter she shared, and the memories she created will remain in their hearts forever.
