Myrna Lou Christensen

Myrna Lou Christensen (ne’e Fletcher), age 85 of Chesterfield, Missouri, formerly of Redford, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026. Born June 4, 1941, in Junction, Utah & grew up in Cannonville, Utah. She was the beloved wife of the late Mark Christensen.

Myrna gave her life quietly and fully to her family. She poured herself into her children and grandchildren with steady support, tender care, and countless acts of service, never seeking recognition. Being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother was her life’s great joy, and her home was a place of warmth and welcome for all who entered.

Myrna received her bachelor’s degree from BYU and taught elementary school prior to having children. She also worked as a daycare provider in her home, a housekeeper, and dental assistant. Myrna loved movies, reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends—she made the world a better place and will be greatly missed!

She was the loving mother of Lisa (Matthew) Madsen, David (Buffie), Douglas (Lori), Kathryn (Nathan) Thompson, Robert (Beth), Deborah (Bobby) Mackenzie and the late Scott (Lea).

She was the cherished grandmother of 32 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brothers Danny and Alma Fletcher and her sister Ramona Morreales.

A viewing will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 31450 Six Mile Rd., Livonia, Michigan on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 9-10:45a.m. followed by funeral services at 11am (eastern standard time) and interment at Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Livonia.
