Monica Ann Harley

Aug 25, 1935 — Nov 5, 2026

Plymouth, Michigan

Monica Ann Harley of Plymouth, Mi., age 91, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2026.

Beloved wife of the late Alexander Harley. Loving mother of Mary (Sharon Sikkelee) Harley, Katy (James) Frederick and Bob (Jackie) Harley. Dear grandmother of Monica, Melissa, Bryan and Jeffrey, Devon, Ethan, Danielle and T.J. Dear sister of James Smith, Sr. Mary Veronica, Diane Smith-Aggers and the late Claire Simon, George Smith and Jack Smith. Daughter of the late John and Katherine Smith.

Monica was a lifelong Catholic, growing up across the street from St. Mary of Redford Parish. She married Alexander Harley and moved to Livonia, MI, where they raised their three children. She dedicated her life to her family as a loving stay-at-home mom. With unwavering devotion and sacrifice, creating a home filled with warmth, faith, laughter, and unconditional love. She viewed motherhood not simply as a responsibility, but as a sacred vocation, and she embraced it with grace and joy. Her children were her greatest blessings, and when grandchildren were born, she cherished every moment with them. Her children all thought of her as “the best mom ever.”

Monica loved Jesus Christ with all her heart and sought to reflect His love in everything she did. Her faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring her relationships. She found great joy in prayer, the Holy Mass, the Rosary and sharing God's love through simple acts of kindness and service to the parishes to which she belonged. She enjoyed spending time with her many friends over the years. Her sense of humor and laugh will never be forgotten.

She lived the last years of her life at Cedarbrook of Northville, eventually moving into memory care where she received excellent care with kindness and dignity until her death.

While her family mourns her absence, they rejoice in the hope that she is now in the presence of the Lord she loved so dearly. Her legacy lives on in the faith she shared, the family she nurtured, and the countless lives she touched through her kindness.
