Mary Anne Erickson, of Livonia, formerly of Redford. Age 75, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2022. Beloved wife of John Krajacic for 38 years. Loving mother of Erik and Regina Krajacic. Dear sister of Peg Elwood and John Erickson. Born in Detroit, Mary Anne grew up in Roseville and played in the high school band while excelling academically. She moved on to the University of Michigan for her B.A. and then earned a Masters at the University of Cincinnati. Mary Anne taught English at Idaho State University, moved to Victoria, British Columbia, and returned to Michigan, earning a Masters in Occupational Therapy at Western Michigan. She worked in the field for many years before retiring from St. Mary's Hospital in Livonia. Mary Anne was quirky and creative…she wrote poetry and enjoyed watercolor painting. She enjoyed crafts until tremors from Parkinson's made them difficult. When she and Jack married they just invited folks to a party in the Irish Hills of Michigan and sprang the wedding on the guests after they arrived. Mary Anne came to parenthood late and the transition wasn’t always smooth. She loved the two kids she and Jack adopted from the Ukraine, Regina and Erik. Mary Anne sent cards for holidays and always included her pets in the signature…usually at least twelve paws. She loved to give gifts. She experienced many health issues over her 75 years but never let them lessen her optimistic happy spirit. Parkinson’s Disease challenged her the last few years. She continued to get up and do what she did best on a everyday basis, put a smile on someone’s face and spread as much positivity as she could. She shall forever be in our hearts A Funeral Service will be held at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd., Livonia, Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 18th from 4– 9:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be directed to the World Wildlife Fund (www.worldwildlife.org). Please share a memory of Mary Anne on her Tribute Wall.
