Marilyn Bolton

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Marilyn Lee Bolton share the news of her passing on Monday March 16, 2026 at the age of 79, just shy of her 80th birthday.

Marilyn was born in Detroit, Michigan to Richard and Doris O’Donohue, on March 30, 1946. She grew up in Livonia, graduated in 1964 from Bentley High School and attended Schoolcraft College. She formally worked at Compuware before retiring from Ford Motor Company in July 2025.

Marilyn was a loving mother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed. She will be remember for her soft spoken nature, kindness, work ethic, and compassion towards others. Her greatest joy were her children and grandchildren, and the love of the dogs she had throughout the years. In her spare time she loved gardening, growing herbs and vegetables.

Marilyn is survived by her son Jeff (Pamela) Wheeler, grandson Aaron, daughter Laura Wheeler(Paul Tchorzynski), granddaughter Abby, and step-daughter Heather (Jason) Vedder, grandchildren Josh, Ian and Amelia, and her beloved dog Buster of ten years.

She is also survived by sisters Ruth (Tom) Bordine, Amy (Dennis) Finkbeiner, brothers, Dan (Carol) O’Donohue and Jon (Annette) O’Donohue. She also leaves behind 3 nieces and 7 nephews.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband Sam Bolton, parents Richard & Doris O’Donohue, brother, Art O’Donohue, sister Joyce McNeece Asher, brother-in-law Jim Asher, sister-in-law Jane O'Donohue, niece baby girl McNeece, nephew James O’Donohue, nephew Ethan O’Donohue and niece twins Helen and Sarah O’Donohue.

Cremation is being handled by RG & GR Harris Funeral Home.

A celebration of life will be held at a late date
