She loved to read, walk her dog, Jack, and take bike trips with her girlfriends throughout the U.S. Then she met Albert Dawe at a party and they fell in love and were married in 1949. Al was transferred by his company to Detroit and there they lovingly welcomed their children, Emilie in 1953, John in 1954 and Tim in 1957.
