Margaret Elaine Perzanowski of Troy passed away on February 17, 2026, at the age of 73. She was born to James Van and Gratton Louise (Ramsey) Beaman on March 18, 1952, in Detroit.
On December 17, 1981, Margaret married William “Bill” Perzanowski and they lived life together and loved each other for more than 44 years. She was a loving mother to daughter Janie Marie (Josh) Balliet and cherished Grammy to grandchildren Matthew and Chelsie Balliet. Margaret was the dear younger sister of Cheryl (Robert) Halter.
She is also survived by brothers-in-law Robert (Donna) Perzanowski; Alfred (Nancy) Perzanowski; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Michael Lawrence; sister-in-law Maria Sullivan and her husband, Dennis; and nephew Bradley Perzanowski.
Described as caring and selfless by her family, Margaret had a lot of love that she shared with those around her. First and foremost, was her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She and Bill attended Woodside Bible Church in Troy for many years and volunteered in several capacities. For the past few years, Margaret especially enjoyed working with the special needs ministry.
Margaret’s family, friends and even her cat, Quintin, were always on the receiving end of her devotion. When not serving as caregiver, she enjoyed crafting, reading, playing games, listening to music and playing the piano. She and Bill also participated on a bowling league and loved to camp, especially near water. Margaret’s resilience and perseverance served her well in later years during health challenges.
Visitation is on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 2-8 pm at the AJ Desmond & Sons Funeral Directors, 2600 Crooks Road, Troy, MI. In addition, there is a visitation on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 11 am to noon, at Woodside Bible Church – Troy Campus at 6600 Rochester Road in Troy. The service will also be at Woodside at noon on Thursday following the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hurdling Handicaps (hurdlinghandicaps.com) or the Special Needs Ministry at the Woodside Bible Church Troy Campus.
