Loretta Phyllis Treviso Danna (Adrieans), age 72, of Troy died of complications from surgery after a brief illness at The Residence of Arbor Hospice on July 23, 2013. Loretta was born on September 13, 1940. She is survived by her two brothers Eugene Treviso (Margaret) of North Carolina and Richard Treviso of Clawson. She is also survived by her three daughters: Gloria Danna Brooks (Michael) of Ann Arbor, Nancy Danna of Bloomfield Hills and Angela Danna Slane of Niantic, Connecticut; three grandchildren: Ashley Slane (Tim Erickson) of Bremerton, Washington; Robert Brooks of Ann Arbor; and Matthew Webster of Bloomfield Hills and her great grandchild Hailey Erickson of Bremerton, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents Rego and Lena Treviso. She had a lifelong passion for music, having started her career as a music teacher after graduating with a bachelor's degree in Music from Marygrove College in Detroit in 1962. She also was a master's candidate in music education from Michigan State University in 1980. She played basketball as a teenager and at Marygrove College in the early 1960s and in a league in the early in 1970s. She was an organist at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Troy in the early 1970s. Loretta also had a passion for politics and once travelled to Iowa to participate in the presidential caucus for a candidate in the mid-1990s. "My mom's passion for teaching young children inspired me to become a preschool and special education teacher", said her daughter Angela Slane. "Her legacy of music and the arts will continue to live on through my paintings and her grandchildren's musical endeavors." She was known for being an accomplished musician and played the accordion, piano, guitar, violin, flute and clarinet. "She loved teaching and parlayed that interest into several businesses in the 1970s and 80s in a child care center and a dance, art, and music center both based in Troy", said her daughter Gloria D. Brooks, President and CEO of Arbor Hospice. A celebration of her life is planned for Friday July 26, 2013 with a wake and viewing from 10 am - 1 pm immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 1 pm at R.G. and G.R.
