Born on September 25, 1938 to Thomas and Anna (Von Dolke) Daley. She met the love of her life- Max Douglas. Married on June 13, 1964, they built a life filled with devotion and unforgettable memories. The couple resided in Detroit, Michigan for many years before moving to Livonia in 1987, where they continued to create lasting bonds with family and their community. Linda's legacy is carried forward by her husband Max, daughters Christine (Tom Apczyski) Douglas of Livonia and Terry Douglas of Fenton, and son Michael (Jill) Douglas of Sterling Heights. She also leaves behind six wonderful grandchildren - Lauren, Thomas, Jessica, Garrett, Max, and Corey - as well as one adorable great-grandchild named Lucy who dubbed her Jelly Bean Grandma. Lucy loved going to her house and drinking Vernors from her very special silver cup and playing with all her Beanie Babies. In addition to her immediate family, Linda is survived by her sister Sue Daley, who shared in the joys and challenges of their childhood years.
One of the things that brought Linda immense joy was her love for her dogs. She dedicated a significant portion of her life to training/competing in agility and obedience trials alongside her canine companions. Her furry friends were more than just pets; they were cherished family members who brought her happiness and fulfillment. Linda loved their daily walks with in Livonia's Rotary Park Trails, no matter the weather.
Linda's zest for life extended beyond her love for dogs. She had many interests and hobbies throughout her years. She was an avid gardener - taking great pride in tending to her gardens and watching them bloom with vibrant colors. Her love for nature also extended to feeding the birds that frequented her backyard sanctuary. In her younger years, she also found immense fulfillment in pursuits like skiing, tennis, and coaching girls softball teams.
As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Linda was an ever-present force in our family's lives. She relished spending time with her children and grandchildren, sharing in their joys and sorrows as they navigated the twists and turns of life. Her grandkids dubbed her "cookie grandma" due to her always having fresh cookies whenever anyone came over. She passed down many of her recipes including her secret zuchinni bread recipe that everyone always requested. Her home was always a safe haven for her grandkids who would come over for cookie/movie time- showing them old shows including the little racals & the three stooges. Her warm embrace and wisdom left an everlasting mark on their hearts, ensuring that her memory would live on for generations to come.
Throughout her life, Linda was a beacon of strength for those around her. Although she will be deeply missed by her family and friends, her memory will continue to live on through the countless lives that she touched along the way.
