Jeanette Lynn Horton

Jeanette Lynn Horton, born on November 16, 1949, in Slab Fork, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, at home in Garden City, Michigan. She leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love and dedication, having enriched the lives of many during her time on earth.

Jeanette was a devoted wife to her late husband, Arthur Horton, whom she married on August 29, 1970. Their union lasted an incredible 32 years prior to his passing, a testament to their unwavering love and commitment to one another. Jeanette was not only a cherished partner but also a beloved mother to her three children: Erica, Kelly, and Jeff (Colleen). She proudly held the title of "grams" to her six grandchildren and later embraced the joy of being a great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren.

A professional hairdresser for over 50 years, Jeanette was known for her exceptional skill and warm personality. Her clients often became lifelong friends, and her talents behind the chair were a reflection of her creativity and passion for bringing beauty into the lives of others.

Jeanette was an active member of the Merriman Road Baptist Church, and previously a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. She nurtured her faith and served with love where she found community and fellowship. Her dedication to her church family and involvement in various activities exemplified her commitment to her beliefs.

In her passing, Jeanette joins the many loved ones who have gone before her in heaven, where she will surely be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and vibrant spirit. As the family comes together to honor her memory, they find solace in the lasting impact she had on each of their lives and the joyful memories that will forever live in their hearts.

A visitation will take place at Merriman Road Baptist Church, 2055 Merriman Rd, Garden City, MI 48135 on Thursday January 15, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM at Merriman Road Baptist Church. Luncheon will follow the service. A private family burial will take place latter at Michigan Memorial Cemetery.
