James K Vallance of Northville, MI went home to be with his Lord on Saturday July 18 after a long illness. Born in Bo’ness, Scotland October 2, 1931, he immigrated to the USA at the age of 16 in 1947 with his parents and sisters after World War II. Jim was born again (saved) at the age of 12 and led a dedicated and consistent Christian life. He was an elder in his local assembly (church), hymn leader, Sunday School Superintendent and well-respected Bible teacher, faithfully serving his Lord for over 75 years. Jim worked as a research mechanical engineer and spent 52 years with Ford Motor Company. He helped develop the gas turbine engine and later helped design the Eco Boost fuel injection system. He received 16 patents during his career and retired in 2001. Jim then followed his passion of gardening and small animal husbandry as well as spending a large amount of time with his grandchildren. Jim is survived by his wife Elizabeth of 61 years, daughter Mary, sons, Robert (Beverly), David (Heidi), James (Mary) and Andrew (Elizabeth) and 18 grandchildren: Michelle (deceased), Abigail (Adam), Chloe, Sophie, Anna, Kirkland, Blake, Cara (Ryan), Junia, Laura, Graham, Robert, Amanda (Andrew), Emily (Michael), Ian (Anastasia), Gregory, Madeline and Claire. A visitation will be held at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd, Livonia on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 5:00- 9:00 PM. A visitation will be held on July 22, 2020 at the Stark Road Gospel Hall, 9280 Stark Rd, Livonia 10:30 AM and Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM.
