Gloria Garcia

Gloria Garcia of Garden City, age 94, passed away on September 23, 2025.

Gloria grew up in Detroit, Michigan. She married the love of her life Raul Garcia when she was just 19 years old in 1950. Gloria and Raul were married for 69 years. Together Gloria and Raul had three beautiful children. Gloria then moved to Garden City in 1962, where she raised her family.

Gloria worked till the age of 85 at J.L. Hudson Department Store (later becoming Macy's) for over 40 years. She loved to garden and spend time with her grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the most important thing to her. Gloria was known for her delicious homemade tacos.

Beloved wife of late Raul Garcia. Dear mother of Linda (Tom) Askew and Carol (Frederic) Droin. Loving grandmother of Leah (Matthew) Hall, Kary Askew, Chloe Droin, and Eva Droin. She was proceeded in death by her son Ronald Garcia and husband Raul Garcia.

A visitation will be held at the Cremation Society of Michigan, 31551 Ford Road, Garden City, Michigan 48135, Friday, September 26, 2025 from 10 AM until 11 AM. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11 AM. Entombment will take place at St. Hedwig Cemetery.
