Anice Loretta Oates (McBraer). Age 90. Went to be with the Lord on April 18, 2005. She was born in Saltillo, Texas on July 13, 1914. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Luther and three brothers. She is survived by a sister-in-law Wreatha Fitzgerald and three nephews Bill Curtis, Tom (Margaret) Curtis and Leslie (Zena) Fitzgerald, and two nieces Donna Gayle (Claude) Ricks, Cora Jan (Dexter) Covington along with many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. Anice was a long time resident of Garden City and a 12 year resident of Garden City Towers. She was a bowler and loved to play cards at the Maplewood Center. She was a very active member of Merriman Road Baptist Church. She will be in state on Tuesday, 9:00 A.M. at Merriman Road Baptist Church until the time of the funeral service at 10:00A.M. Visitation will be at R.G. & G. R. Harris Funeral Home, 31551 Ford Rd., Garden City on Monday from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
