Allen F. Peterman

Allen F. Peterman Age 87, called home to be with the Lord February 5, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Georgenia Stewart Peterman and Margaret Rea Peterman. Loving father of Bill (Debbie), Lee (the late Timna), Wanda (Ted) Lindsay, Mark (Nancy) and Doug. Dear grandfather of 9, Jane (Chris) Thackaberry, Kevin (Darcie) Peterman, Derik and Michael Peterman, Christopher (Meredith) and Shannon Lindsay, Sam & Ashley Peterman, Kyle Peterman. Allen cared deeply about the academic and spiritual education of his grandchildren, and was always eager to tell others about their musical, athletic, travel, and business pursuits. Allen was also a great grandfather of 4 and enjoyed the antics of these little ones, Katelyn, Ian, Camden and Miles. Allen worked at Ford Motor Co. for 34 years and was a pioneer among the individuals who now call themselves "computer engineers". His interest in computers and electronic gadgets of all sorts was a lifelong pursuit, even in the last few years where his iPad was a constant companion. Deeply inquisitive, he always enjoyed talking with others about how all kinds of things worked. After his career at Ford, he ran the Academic computing lab at Madonna University for 19 years. He really enjoyed working with students and faculty, and helping them advance their skills. Allen's greatest interests were Bible Study, the pursuit of his personal relationship with Jesus, and the sharing of his love for the Lord with others. Even as his physical capabilities began to decline, he made his apartment his mission field. He had time to talk with his many caregivers, and had a boldness for sharing God's love with everyone he met. Even a few days before the Lord called him home to heaven, Allen was discussing his concern for the spiritual life of those he knew. Allen touched the life of everyone he met with his kindness, caring and lack of complaint regarding his physical challenges. Visitation will be held at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd., Livonia, Friday 3 - 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Truth and Tidings Trust or the Michael J.
